When it comes to portraiture, we like to work outside the confines and the artificialness of a studio. There are a great number of backdrops in the world, and they could be used in many ways.
A great portrait captures the persona of the individual, couple or family. It takes two very important steps to achieve this. Firstly, the right setting is chosen. Secondly, the individual, couple or family being photographed get walked through a process which helps to do away with any nerves tension, allow for proper self expression and to increase confidence in front of the camera.
We find that children are best photographed in a space that they enjoy, being a playground, their room, McDonald’s, etc. This approach creates a natural portrait of the child.
There is no denying it, adults are a bit more difficult to capture naturally. In our adulthood, we are way too self conscious, and standing in front of a camera makes us very nervous. So it takes longer to reach a natural portrait.
We approach every project differently, and our aim is to always create images that are true and beautiful.
